Registration

On the day of the event participants MUST bring their printed and signed participant's agreement, ready to hand in to the registration team on the morning of the event WITH ID.

​

Participants are advised to wear a face covering during the registration process in the registration tent, however this is not compulsory. We also advise to wear whilst queuing for any food and drink vendors and also when using the toilet facilities..

General FAQs

​

Can I enter a team?

Yes you can! We encourage the entry of teams whether it’s a work team, sports team or even just a few mates. Come up with a team name and maybe even a fancy dress theme!
 

Can I enter now and my friends join my team later?

Yes! You can set up a team by clicking “Enter Now” link on the homepage and set your team up. Your team mates can join at a later date simply by entering the same team name and start time as you, you will automatically be put together in a team. 
 

How much is it to enter?

The price varies depending on when you enter (the earlier you enter, the cheaper it is). Entries on the day are £50
 

What if I don’t get the same start time as my team mates?

If for any reason you don’t manage to get into the same wave as your friends then don’t worry, you will be able to start at the same time. Just email us prior to the event day. After all Yorkshire Warrior is all about the team! Please be aware that the wave time you select when entering MAY NOT be your final wave time. Wave times will depend on participant numbers.


Am I eligible to participate?

If you’re over the age of 15 on the day of the event then you are eligible for Yorkshire Warrior! Subject to the signing of the Participants Agreement and the Waiver Form then you are welcome to take part. 

 

What is the deadline for registration?

The earlier you register, the cheaper it will be! The deadline for online registration for Yorkshire Warrior is 5pm the Thursday before the event. If you miss the deadline then you will still be enter on the day at a cost of £50 (cash only)
 

Can I get a refund?

No, we do not offer refunds regardless of circumstance, this is made clear in the participant’s agreement. If you can not take part then you can change the name of the application for a £10 administration fee or defer your entry to our next event which will also carry a £10 fee.

*If the new date (April 3rd) is not suitable for yourself then we will give the option of a deferral, name change or refund however the deadline for letting us know is February 28th.*

COVID-19 - Any events cancelled due to Covid-19 will result in all entries being automatically carried forward to our next event.

 

Can the size of team change?

Yes you can of course. However, we have set discounts for different team sizes and you must reach the minimum requirements.
 

Name Change Facility

If for any reason you are unable to take part in Yorkshire Warrior after registering, you are able to do a ‘Name Change’. This enables you to swap your entry to another person. There is a £10 administration fee for this facility and it is a legal requirement for the new participant to agree to the disclaimer and other Terms and Conditions. If you fail to follow the correct criteria when switching to a new participant, then the new participant will NOT be authorised to take part in the event. 

 

Registering a Name Change

If you are no longer able to take part in the event, please email us with your name and registered email address, as well as the FULL NAME, email address and next of kin details of the new person that is going to be taking your place.  Once we receive this email we will remove you from our entry list and will reply with a discount code for the new participant to enter for £10. 

 

Minimum Age to take part

The minimum age to take part in Yorkshire Warrior Challenge is 15 years.

 

The minimum age for Junior Yorkshire Warrior is 8yrs - 14yrs

 

Am I fit enough to participate?

Yorkshire warrior is a tough event that requires certain levels of physical strength & fitness as well as mental determination. There is however a large amount of allocated time to complete the course so you can do it at your own pace.

 

Can I wear fancy dress?

Of course you can! As long as it’s not going to compromise yours or anyone else’s safety. You may even win the best dressed Warrior prize!
 

What is included in the entry fee?

The entry fee includes a Yorkshire Warrior T-Shirt which you should wear with pride on completion of the event, plus some great entertainment on the day.
 

Can I bring friends and family to watch?

The event village will be adhering to social distancing, please ensure you are mindful of this at all times. all spectators can walk along the entire course in Ripley Castle Grounds.

Will food and drink be available on site?

Food and drink will be available to purchase on the day of the event.
 

What should I bring?

You will need suitable running shoes and clothing and a towel. It is vital that you bring warm clothes for after the event. There will be food vendors and a bar at the Event Village. 
 

Do we pay for parking?

There is a £5 fee per car at Yorkshire Warrior, cash only accepted.


Are dogs allowed?

No, dogs are not permitted due to deer and wildlife situated at Ripley Castle Estate.


What should I wear?

You will require running gear, making sure your trainers are securely fastened! We would also advise you to wear something that you would be happy to lose of damage during the run! A full change of warm clothes is essential along with a towel for when you have finished the run.
 

What time does everything start on the day?

The event starts at 9am, you will be advised about your personal start time 1 week prior to the event day. It is advised that you arrive at least an hour before your start time.
 

What if I can’t complete an obstacle?

If there are any obstacles that you are not comfortable with then feel free to skip them. There is no shame in missing out an obstacle, although if you are missing out obstacles just to improve their time then you are only cheating yourself!

 

Is there a time limit?

No, but stewards and event personnel will judge if struggling participants are fit to continue.

 

What is the registration process on the day of the event?

Will Yorkshire Warrior be cancelled due to bad weather?

Yorkshire Warrior will not be cancelled due to weather conditions unless they are extreme and deemed too dangerous for the event to go ahead. Rain adds to the fun!
 

What if I get injured?

First aid will be present on the day of the event, Yorkshire Warrior does everything possible to ensure the event is safe although there are the obvious risks involved with participating in such events. 

 

Is there somewhere I can leave my valuables?

There is an unmanned bag drop area and a key drop which will be manned. Please leave valuables in your car

How long is the course?

The Yorkshire Warrior course is 10k and 20k over numerous obstacles. 

 

Can I raise money for charity?

Yorkshire Warrior is supporting Martin House Children's Hospice and The Leeds Children's Transplant Team this year but you are of course free to support a charity of your choice through fund raising for the event.
